The Palm Beach Post: Palm Beach restaurants move to help workers in need

Time will tell how much Palm Beach restaurants may benefit from federal and state economic-aid packages enacted in response to the COVID-19 crisis, but in the meantime, some island eateries have begun employee-assistance initiatives of their own.

Sant Ambroeus (santambroeus.com) in Royal Poinciana Plaza is part of a GoFundMe campaign its parent, New York-based SA Hospitality Group, is hosting.

SA Hospitality Group includes 14 restaurant locations of Casa Lever, Felice and Sant Ambroeus. On Friday, SA Hospitality Group’s “employee crisis” fund stood at more than $120,000 of its published $200,000 goal.

Meanwhile, TooJay’s has created an in-house fund for its employees. The gourmet deli-and-restaurant chain, with its oldest location in Royal Poinciana Plaza, announced earlier this week it’s donating 10 percent of all TooJay’s gift card sales through April 30 to the fund. TooJay’s said it will add matching funds.
