New items available through Sept. 15

TooJay’s has been known for its sandwiches — particularly its between-bread piled-high pastrami — ever since the gourmet deli-and-restaurant chain opened its first location more than three decades ago in Palm Beach.

The sandwich roster at TooJay’s in Royal Poinciana Plaza, 340 Royal Poinciana Way, has grown to include numerous options — everything from a Reuben and a beef-brisket dip, to a grilled vegetable wrap and lox on a bagel. Now there’s more: three new sandwiches, available through Sept. 15.

The sandwiches includ a grilled turkey-pastrami Reuben with pastrami-seasoned turkey breast, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye bread. And the new Palm Beach Club essentially is a traditional club sandwich (ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo) with the addition of avocado and house-made challah bread. The third sandwich is a Philly grilled cheese, which, according to TooJay’s, was conceptualized by Terry Brown, a cook at the TooJay’s location in Plantation. The Philly grilled cheese, a twist on the famous Philly cheesesteak sandwich, features thinly sliced roast beef, green and red peppers, onions and melted American and provolone cheeses.

The three new sandwiches at TooJay’s are priced from $11.99 to $12.99.
