Palm Beach Daily News: Historic workshop will focus on Royal Poinciana Plaza, Bradley Park Hotel building
In the mood for walkabout around Palm Beach? Then you might want to consider participating in the annual Historic Properties Workshop on Thursday.
In an ode to the Preservation Foundation’s 40th anniversary, the event will explore the restoration of landmarked structures as a catalyst for revitalization, according to a release.
The interactive walking workshop will feature Royal Poinciana Plaza and White Elephant Palm Beach, formerly the Bradley Park Hotel, two projects that are considered key to the renaissance of Royal Poinciana Way, the release said.
Katie Jacob, director of programming at the Preservation Foundation, said the sites were chosen because Royal Poinciana Plaza represents a finished revitalization project, while the White Elephant Palm Beach is a work in progress. Together, she said, they help folks “get an idea of how a landmark can be brought back to life and the process for actually doing so.”
