Luxe Interiors and Design: “Then & Now: Inside The Royal Poinciana Plaza”

Luxe Interiors and Design January 1, 2018

In the lush setting of Palm Beach, nothing captures the spirit and essence of the island quite like The Royal Poinciana Plaza. Lauded architect John Volk dreamt and designed the iconic venue, completing the project in 1957. Today, after undergoing a graceful restoration, Volk would surely admire the recent enhancements: classic detailing such as crisp white columns, intricate moldings, Greek key ironwork and black-and-white marble terrazzo tiles have all been lovingly refurbished to their original beauty. “Its allure is the coming together of historic, Regency-style architecture with magical landscaping, delicious food and charming boutiques. It’s being located right on the water at the entrance to the most special island in the world,” says Samantha David, chief operating officer at WS Development and head of Up Markets, a division of WS, which owns and manages the plaza.
