At a time when most of the publishing world is in the doldrums, Assouline Publishing’s posh tomes are flying off shelves around the world.
Owners Prosper and Martine Assoulinemet more than 30 years ago in Paris when he was working in the art department of a French publishing company and she in the world of fashion. They married, had two sons and began publishing luxury lifestyle books.
Prosper said new titles come from brainstorming with Martine. Their first joint-project was about a place they dearly loved; the hotel La Colombe d’Or in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
